This past year was so much fun with Regina being 1st Alternate. Even though I have been on the committee since she was a baby, I was able to experience it in a whole new way. The excitement and stress of preparing for the contest and then the awe of watching your baby on stage as a poised and confident young woman is undescribeable.
The best part of all of this was having my mom be a part of the dress process. Seeing her watch her granddaughter try on the gown and the pride she felt watching her on stage. Up until the day she died she was still talking about how proud she was of her. We were truly blessed that she was part of that special evening.
It was truly an amazing year for Regina. She loved going to schools and talking to the little kids, working at the fairs and especially Princess Camp where they were truly pampered. The life skills she learned this year will be ones that will be beneficial to her for the rest of her life. I can't thank the Milk Advisory Board enough for this opportunity and I strongly urge any girl thinking of running to do so - you won't regret it!
